Let sleeping cows lie? Herefords, Black Angus, Red Angus and maybe a cow mutt or two. When I took genetics in college, I expected to find out who and who not gets
ReplyDeletefreckles in the third generation. But the prof was a Hereford aficionado, concerned with the statistics of where the spots would end up in generations of those curious whitefaces, which would make the tastiest steaks and which could make it through a winter in the northern Great Plains. Got one of my lowest grades in that class and still haven't figured out
the gnawing question of the genetics of
freckles. Nice pictures, and much safer than getting Bison to pose!
