White Baneberry

  1. What I wonder is which of these images best captures the baneberry in its flowering stage. The first one shows the leaves best, so it would be best for identification, but the second is more dramatic, and the second and third make the flower look (to me) as if it's dancing.

  2. I like the second one because you can see the details of the flower. I don't think I've ever seen this plant before. Or maybe it's just that I didn't notice it.

  3. It’s not one of the headliner flowers of the north woods, like trillium, and it doesn’t last long, but it’s interesting and worth a second look. Some years there is one flower that catches my attention for what seems like the first time. Maybe this is the year of the baneberry for me.
