Drops on Birch Branches, New Year's Eve

7 comments:

  1. nice! So odd, this morning I was walking back from the mailbox and I saw little bunches of snow, much like these drops of water on the tiny branches of my catsura tree and thought "I should go get the camera," but I didn't.

  2. I thought the same this morning about snow on the berries of a mountain ash tree. Nature gives us so many opportunities, but we can only capture a tiny fraction.

  3. Finding a Scripture for my Favorite Pictures is a little Harder than I Though. I had to Search the Bible for the Word Dew, but here's a Nice One.

"By His knowledge, the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew." (Proverbs 3:20, KJV)

  4. Lista, you were right: I did have unmoderated comments. Sorry for not getting yours published sooner. Please forgive me. I will have to look up that chapter in Proverbs for the context, as the verse is not familiar to me.

  5. No Need to Apologize. I'm just hoping that I don't Ramble on too much putting so many Words on your "Break from Words" Blog.

I'm not that Familiar with that Verse Either. Like I said, I had to Scan the Bible for the Word "Dew". At first, I was Thinking of a Common Praise Song.

    "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
There's just something about that Name.
    Master, Savior, Jesus;
Like the Fragrance After the Rain."

The Last Phrase was Appropriate for this Picture, but Unfortunately, it is not a Scripture. The Scripture I Found and Posted for you is in a Proverb about the Value of Knowledge and Wisdom. Yes, by all Means, Read it. It's a Neat Little Proverb.

During my Word Search, I Found Out that Dew is Described in the Bible as "That which Fades Away like the Dew", "the Dew of my Youth" and that God Sent Manna to the Children of Isreal in the Desert on the Dew.

There were a lot of Scriptures that Described Dew on the Grass, yet there was no Grass in this Picture, just as there was no Water in your Sunset Picture. If there was, then that Quote could have began with Genesis 1:1.

Perhaps it is Easier to Match Pictures to Scriptures, than Scriptures to Pictures. For Example, "He is the Lily of the Valley and the Bright and Morning Star." A Photographer would have to Look for such a Picture that Contained enough Light for Lilies in the Foreground, yet Dark Enough for a Star Off in the Distance. That One Might be a Challenge.

Well, I Better Stop Rambling. You Take Care.

  6. Do you know the Cat Stevens song that begins "Morning has broken/like the first morning/blackbird has spoken/like the first bird"? There is a line about dew in that song, which I sang at a funeral once years ago.

  7. "Sweet the rain's new fall, Sunlit from heaven; Like the first dewfall, On the first grass. Praise for the sweetness, Of the wet garden. Sprung in completeness, Where His feet pass."

You will Find the Complete Lyrics Here.

Interesting Funeral Song, since it is Actually about New Beginnings. It's Not Inappropriate, though. As One Person Dies in the Hospital, a Bell Chimes in the Maternity Ward, Announcing a New Birth. We Once Received a Phone Call, while at a Funeral, Announcing the Birth of my Nephew. Everyone Present Shared a Moment of Rejoicing for the New Birth.
