Now that is a painting. I wonder if people from Away understand just what the Open flag cost . . . and just how much it is valued! It's a fine, brave image in so many ways.
ReplyDeleteGerry, I modified the original image with the Accented Edges filter in Photoshop. Kind of a Childe Hassam effect, eh?
ReplyDeleteWhat the OPEN flag costs--I know you are thinking of all the expenses, from gasoline to drive to town to heat and electricity in the store, rent, time--the whole schmeer. Well, just wait until this summer when you get a chance to read Ellen Airgood's SOUTH OF SUPERIOR. There are some characters with real Up North bravery!
