Some of My Favorite Photoshop Possibilities

Through a rainy windshield --
Here's one of the least exciting shots from last Wednesday, and here it is again and again and again.

Increasing saturation makes for brighter color.
The distortion called crosshatching gives an interesting effect.
Ink outlines is very dramatic!
Just as a wonderful movie can be made from a mediocre book (yes, a lousy movie can be made from a great book, too...), a mediocre image can sometimes be turned into something quite magical.

    1. Thanks, you guys. I guess I don't need to add that not every lousy photograph can be saved -- but we already know that, don't we? It's what 'delete' is for!

  2. I think a lot of people don't realize that, Pamela. I can go out and make two hundred clicks in a typical photoshoot, and end up keeping 20 that I want to work with. Are you shooting raw with your camera? Karen

    1. I am using my new camera, Karen, i.e., your old one. Am still having trouble with extreme close-up shots, but everything else is working well, and every now and then I discover, by accident, something new and different I can do.

Not keeping shots that don't come up to my standards is important to me. Don't know the ratio, but I delete a good many.

  3. Pamela...Are you using the macro mode for extreme close-ups? It's shown by a flower icon. It might help with the close-ups, if you're not already doing this.. Karen

    1. Yes, I switch to the close-up icon, which is why I'm so baffled by the camera's refusal to focus close up. Everything else works fine.
