Summerfall

  1. The early turning leaves (usually not until August) remind me of the rapid pace of a quickly moving summer and send me into a panic of season's end activity. I still must walk the State Park beach! I still must have a camp fire! I still must get a cone and camouflage myself as a tourist! I still must...

  2. Dave, I so know what you mean! (Except for the "cone" part. What does that mean?) Except for the apparent stillness of winter, under its blanket of snow, I can hardly think of the year as divided into seasons any more--it all goes so quickly! Here at the end of July, however, the days are still long. And campfires are great as darkness falls....

  3. Purchase an ice cream cone in Leland, blend in on a summer evening, playing the part of a tourist...it's a once-a-summer tradition.

  4. We played tourist in Glen Arbor on Wednesday, with breakfast at Art's Tavern.
