Sarah says,

"Happy New Year!!!"

  1. These are wonderful, Pamela! I love the way you organized them by months. Of course, the Sarah pictures are great, especially the last one of her running full tilt. I remember the September trees image and the fallen leaves with a touch of snow are gorgeous. But my favorite is the August sunset from the path down by the Fog Horn building. I recognize rocks and that little island. I've wondered if it has a name. Hope you have a wonderful new year and I appreciate all you do for our community. Karen

    1. You've got me puzzled, Karen. Fog Horn building? Does it look like something at the Leelanau State Park. Not. It's sunset from the beach at the bottom of Onomonee Road, up the shore from old Gill's Pier. I had many, many shots (as I'm sure you can imagine!) from that same evening, and some would have made it clearer where we were.

Thanks for your visit and your appreciation, and I hope everyone who sees this will head on over to your photo blog to see your marvelous 2013 images of Leelanau scenery and wildlife.

      Happy new year!

    2. Ooops! I was wrong where that was taken. I recognize that spot now. And yes, the Fog Horn building is at the Lighthouse/State Park. It's the brick building that is to the west of the Lighthouse and there is a trail that leads down to the Lake. There's a pretty little island there, similar to the peninsula at the base of Onomonee Road. Happy New Year also. Karen

  2. Do I see the beginnings of the annual 'Dog Ear Books'
    photo calendar?

    1. BB, I've thought for many years of doing such a thing but never manage to get it together. Not sure every one of these images would print well, either. Sometimes I crop and enlarge, and the pixilation is good enough onscreen but not good enough to print.

Anyway, thanks for visiting, and happy new year to you out in Idaho!

  3. This is a great idea! How perfect. Love every single one, but of course am partial to Sarah.
