Pretty sure I saw an eagle in Springfield yesterday. Was thinking it was a hawk until I saw the massive wingspan and beak. Unfortunately, just as I was about to snap a picture it flew away.
Matt, I’m wondering if the large bird we saw for several weeks on the utility pole by the driveway—the one we thought was a hawk and that would fly off over the willows when we drove down the hill—was this young eagle. In between the earlier sightings and this more recent one, the entire hillside was laid bare by bulldozers in preparation for the planting of more cherry trees, and we didn’t see our large bird visitor. Then this one appeared. Same? Who knows?
